“If you’ve got a
DWI, it presents some additional issues because of the fact that the license
suspension and sanction can be much longer. Additionally, anybody who
is young and receives any conviction in the state of New York, it’s
going to sit with them for a very long period of time. I was instrumental
in pushing in this county, when I was president of the Criminal Bar Association,
a program for people under 21 that they could receive a plea bargain in
connection with driving-while-intoxicated cases so they could leave this
system without a criminal record.”
