“We’ve handled cases where people have been injured due to icy conditions at a building or in a parking lot. Generally those cases involve situations where there has been a snow or ice event. Time has gone by, but the building owners did nothing to fix that condition and somebody has been injured. A lot of times those can be very significant injuries because a person’s cold out, fall on hard concrete, and can get really hurt.
In New York City building owners have a reasonable short time after the end of a snow or ice event to go to that building and fix any condition that may be dangerous to pedestrians in that area.”
