Foley Griffin - 20th Year Anniversary

Serving Families Throughout Garden City
|

Foley Griffin is proud to announce that May 15, 2017 is our 20 year anniversary. In 1997, founding partners, Brian Griffin and Tom Foley, had just completed their third year as assistant district attorneys in Nassau County. Tom and Brian analyzed the legal landscape in Nassau County, and decided that 1997 was a good time to begin private practice. At the start, the attorneys handled a wide range of cases including criminal law, personal injury, real estate, wills, family court and commercial litigation. Over the years, the partners decided that the best way to provide outstanding legal service to their clients was to focus their attention on limited practice areas. This has led to the firm’s present day focus on matters of criminal defense and personal injury.

The success of the firm has been due in large part to the amazing staff that we have assembled over the years. Attorneys Daniel Russo and Kelly Guthy anchor the criminal and personal injury departments respectively. Our attorneys are assisted on a daily basis by a wonderful group of paralegals. Those paralegals, Nadine Javits, Nicole Feuer and Amanda Flinter are essential to the smooth, day to day operations of our firm. Finally, the firm is indebted to our bookkeeper, Fran Blasé for her years of dedicated service to the firm.

On a daily basis we deal with people who are struggling with a difficult period in their lives. Either they have been involved in an accident where they suffered a significant injury, or are facing accusations of criminal wrongdoing. We continuously strive to always remember and respect the struggles of our clients. We believe in outstanding client service as well as thoughtful legal advice.

Our firm has developed a passion for community service. In 2010 we created the concept of the Massapequa Turkey Trot to raise money for cancer research. The event has grown tremendously since its infancy. Now the race attracts almost 2,000 runners each Thanksgiving morning. In 2016, through the efforts of our firm, we were able to donate $34,000.00 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We hope to continue growing this race in the years to come.

In addition to community service, our attorneys are dedicated to educating both the students in our community, as well as our attorney colleagues. Partners, Tom Foley and Brian Griffin, serve as adjunct professors at St. John’s University. Tom and Brian instruct students on legal issues in the business environment. In addition, Tom is an adjunct professor at St John’s Law School where he teaches an externship program. Tom and Dan Russo are also active in the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. Tom is the incoming Dean of the Academy and Dan is next in line.

Our focus is on our clients. Our diversity, community involvement, and education, permits our attorneys to draw upon a wide range of life experiences when counseling our clients. Since we are not a “volume” practice we are able to give each client the care and attention that their legal matter demands. We have been doing this for 20 years, and we have no intention of slowing down.
